What’s happening at International Trade Matters in October?

We are welcoming in the new month here at International Trade Matters with a bevvy of BCC Accredited training courses, and exciting webinars for you!

International Trade Specialist Frances Fawcett is joining forces again with Hampshire Chamber of Commerce in 2 webinars this month.

On 19th October she will be joining other guest speakers including Rob Lewtas (Department of International Trade), Marya Jabeen (Surrey Translation Bureau), and ITM regular guest contributors Janina Neumann & Eva Tunez Salvador (Local to Global) to introduce attendees to the internationalisation fund.

On the 27th October, Frances and the Chamber will be covering moving goods to the EU.

We see on a daily basis how many traders big and small are still trying to get their heads around the many procedures for permanent and temporary export / import of goods – even though we are now nearly at the 2 year mark since the UK left the EU.

These webinars are always very highly attended and numbers are limited so make sure you grab your free space as soon as possible!

Over to our scheduled training…

On Thursday 6th October, Mike Court will be delivering a half day training course on Inward and Outward Processing.

If you import or export goods on a temporary basis (for processing, repairs and maintenance) and are an international trade or finance administrator, or perhaps you are responsible for analysing your companies costs this is the course for you.  Mike will be on hand to help you understand the advantages of claiming Inward and Outward Processing Relief, how to go about it and sources of help and advice that you may need.

Are you new to international trade, or have you got a new-starter that could do with an understanding on Customs Procedures & Documentation?

We have a course covering just this on the Wednesday 19th October at 9.30am.

Ideal for international trade novices at any level within a company – we will be covering customs entries, classification and valuation of goods as well as duties and taxes.

A suitable introduction or refresher course that will enable you to administer documentation correctly, ensure efficient processes and meet compliance obligations.

Don’t forget these are just 2 examples of the raft of BCC Accredited training courses that we are running throughout October and the rest of 2022 in association with a network of Chambers of Commerce around the UK.

Looking forward into early November we have Understanding Commodity Codes and Understanding Exporting – both of which are really popular so check out our events calendar and book your space today.
