What is the CPTPP?

The CPTPP is a free trade agreement connecting 11 Indo-Pacific countries, including Canada, Japan, and Singapore. With the UK joining on 15th December 2024, the bloc represents 580 million consumers and 15.6% of global GDP. The agreement eliminates tariffs and reduces trade barriers for 98% of UK exports, offering preferential access to key markets in Asia and Latin America. It covers trade in goods, services, investment, and government procurement, creating a consistent and fair environment for business.
