A chartered mechanical engineer, Jeremy is experienced in product design, development manufacture and international marketing, sales and distribution.
After graduating from Cranfield University with a B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering Jeremy joined tractor and farm machinery manufacturer Massey Ferguson as a design engineer. Having achieved a solid grounding in product design and development Jeremy moved on to work in manufacturing at Massey Ferguson becoming Tractor Quality Manager at their Coventry plant, which at the time as the largest tractor factory in the western world. This was followed by a move to after-sales service and Jeremy handled technical support for all products sold by the AGCO Corporation in the Asia Pacific region which evolved into a sales management role in the same territory. Over 6 years Jeremy travelled extensively in many Asia Pacific markets but particularly in Japan, Korea, India, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, Australia and New Zealand building and developing distribution relationships and negotiating at all levels.
This was followed by several years in product marketing management with global responsibilities including product strategy development and the management of purchase and supply agreements with major manufacturers. Jeremy then became Director of Licensee Operations for the AGCO Corporation and was responsible for negotiating and developing contracts to assemble and manufacture machinery under complex license agreements in Iran, Iraq, Libya, Turkey, India, Pakistan, Sudan and Brazil. This lead to Jeremy taking over responsibility for all business for the AGCO Corporation in the Africa and Middle East division including developing a fundamental “ back to basics” strategy for developing future business.
More recently Jeremy was Managing Director of the Sparex Group, headquartered in Exeter England, Sparex is a leading global supplier of farm machinery parts and accessories with subsidiaries in 19 countries and customers in over 120 countries across the world making it Devon’s most Internationally active company.
Jeremy’s specialism is design and manufacture of products for export along with distribution strategies and building partnerships and trade relationships between companies. Jeremy is comfortable to work at all levels from shop floor to boardroom and has served on company boards in several countries
